Andrea Sets New Program Best, Firehawks Make History Winning First Race

OAKVILLE, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's cross country squad finished atop the podium for the first time in program history in the Warhawk Invitational on Friday.

UT Southern paced all teams with 31 points and finished in a time of 1:41:51, while Madison Grant, from Freed-Hardeman, captured the top podium spot with a 18:59 5k time.

Alyssa Andrea led the Firehawk effort earning a 3rd-place finish in 19:12. Andrea shaved 30 seconds off the program best time that she set in the Live in Lou Classic.

The rest of the Tennessee Southern scorers finished taking places eighth, 12, 13, and 16. Emma Vizina landed a time of 20:16, while Olivia Barksdale ran at 20:24. Miriam Schulz crossed the line at 20:45, with Amelia Worsley was 28 seconds behind at 21:13.
