Firehawks Finish 12th in Season Opener
OXFORD, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's cross country squad finished just outside the top 10 in the JSU Foothills Invitational at Choccolocco Park on Friday. UTS was one of the three non-NCAA institutions in the top 12.
Auburn paced all teams with 15 points and finished in a time of 1:11:07, while Mary Mac Collins, from AU, captured the top podium spot with a 14:10 marker.
Alyssa Andrea led the Firehawk effort earning a 40th-place finish in 15:47. UTS ended the race in 1:22:23 and with 328 points.
The rest of the Tennessee Southern scorers finished taking places 64, 80, 82, and 93. Olivia Barksdale landed a time of 16:26, while Emma Vizina ran at 16:49. Miriam Schulz crossed the line at 16:52, with Cierra Arnold just 15 seconds behind at 17:07.
