Barksdale Breaks Twenty in the UAH Charger Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's cross country squad finished 40th in the UAH Charger Invitational on Saturday. UTS was one of the five non-NCAA institutions in the meet.

Cedarville paced all teams with 46 points and finished in a time of 1:27:43, while Johanna Wistokat, from Christian Brothers, captured the top podium spot with a 17:15 marker.

Olivia Barksdale led the Firehawk effort earning a 188th-place finish in 19:55. UTS ended the race in 1:55:41 and with 1,216 points. Barksdale set a new school record and was the first female runner to break the 20-minute barrier.

The rest of the Tennessee Southern scorers finished taking places 279, 362, 376, and 380. Cierra Arnold landed a time of 21:07, while Jordan Greene ran at 23:33. Brianna Pearson crossed the line at 25:02, with Emma Randall just 60 seconds behind at 26:02.
