Four Firehawks Honored on Senior Day, UT Southern Falls to Loyola

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern volleyball team celebrated senior day in a hard-fought match with Loyola. The Firehawks fell is straight sets 3-0 on Saturday.

UT Southern (13-13, 5-8) hung tough against the WolfPack, but the visitors from New Orleans overpowered the injury plagued Firehawks. Both side traded points in start of all three sets, but Loyola (22-5, 12-2) outlasted the Firehawks rally.

Morgan Avrit led with seven kills. Laura Howell had 20 assists. Hailey Walker led the defense with 12 digs.

SENIOR DAY

Four Firehawks were honored prior to Saturday's match. Grace Wiggins, Avrit, Walker, and Jazmine Wilson were celebrated for their accomplishments as seniors.

NEXT UP

UT Southern will return to the road with a trip to Tuscaloosa, Ala. To face the Tigers of Stillman on Thursday, November 2nd. The first serve is set for 6 p.m.
