Firehawks Split Day Two in Freed-Hardeman Invite

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern volleyball team swept the Tougaloo (25-8, 25-18, 28-26), and fell in four sets to Freed-Hardeman (16-25, 18-25, 25-22, 22-25) in the Freed-Hardeman Invite on Saturday.

GAME ONE

UT Southern (5-3) quickly sped out to a huge lead took the first two sets easily. The Bulldogs forced the final set to extra points, but the Firehawks held on to win.

GAME TWO

UT Southern (5-4) dropped the first two sets to the host Lions, but secured set three before falling short in set four.

Morgan Avrit led the way with 12 kills and 11 digs. Emma Beardsley added 11 terminations. Kaysen Welsh and Emma Harding each added 16 assists.  

NEXT UP

UT Southern will return home to the "CAC" hosting Lemoyne-Owen on Friday, September 8th. The first serve is set for 5 p.m.
