COLUMBIA, Ky. – The University of Tennessee Southern volleyball team won in four sets (25-16, 25-23, 16-25, 27-25) on Saturday (Oct. 22) against Lindsey Wilson.

The first set was all UTS, and the Firehawks would edge our LWC in the second set. With the 2-set lead, the Firehawks would concede the third set. LWC would give it all they had but the Firehawks would take the win in four.

Two Firehawks had a double-double in the match. Brianna Turner led with 14 kills and 10 digs. Morgan Avrit would add 14 kills on 34 swings. Sophia Ortega would contribute 12 terminations and 15 digs. Angelina Herrera would gather 10 kills and five blocks. Laura Howell added one kill and 50 assists. Hailey Walker recorded 10 digs for the Firehawks.

The JV squad defeated LWC 2-0 today.

NEXT UP

Tennessee Southern will host Cumberland on Thursday, October 27. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m with the JV squad beginning at 5 p.m.
