Firehawks Tame Wildcats, Win Third in a Row

McKENZIE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern volleyball team notched its first MSC win in four sets (25-16, 25-19, 19-25, 25-14) on Tuesday (Sept. 20) against rival Bethel.

The Firehawks silenced the home crowd taking control of both the first two sets. The Wildcats would claw back to force a fourth set, but UTS would burn them to take the match. 

Brianna Turner led with 12 terminations on 31 swings. Laura Howell recorded 20 assists for the Firehawks. Sophia Ortega had 12 digs.

Tennessee Southern will travel to Henderson, Tenn., to battle Freed-Hardeman at 6 p.m on Friday, September 23rd.
