Firehawks Spilt Season Opening Dual
MARIETTA, Ga. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's swimming team opened the 2023-24 campaign with a dual meet split with Life and Columbia (S.C.) on Saturday. UT Southern defeated Columbia 99-56 and fell to Life 116-51. The meet was held at the Mountain View Aquatic Center.
Freshman Morgan Brosch led the way for the women with 2nd place finishes in the 200 and 500 Free. Mikayla Chavez touched the wall 2nd in the 100 Fly and nearly broke her own school record. She also picked up 3rd in the 100 yard breaststroke. The 200 Medley Relay team of Anna Grace Faulds, Becca Corbitt, Chavez and Brosch finished in 2nd just behind Life. The 200 Free Relay team of Faulds, Kaylee Brosch, Morgan Brosch, and Chavez also touched the wall in 2nd, coming back on the final leg to overtake Columbia.
