Glassman and Wilson Named to Southern States Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Team

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2023 Barnes & Noble College Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

 

William Carey's Julia Herbst was named 2023 Barnes & Noble College Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior health, recreation and physical education major posted a 4.0 GPA in the classroom and was named First-Team NAIA All-American on the field. She posted 17 goals and 18 assists, helping lead the Crusaders to a runner-up finish at the NAIA National Championship.

Additional Notes

· To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions

· Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school

· Wilson and Herbst lead with 4.0 GPA's, while Lockwood has a 3.9 and Olafsdottir has a 3.89 GPA

· Azarias, Herbst and Kelm all earned First-Team All-Conference and NAIA All-America honors
