Firehawks Blitz Barons, Honor Four on Senior Day

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer squad scored a pair of goals in the first four minutes and continued the onslaught in an 11-nil win over Brewton-Parker on Saturday.   

UT Southern (11-3-2, 6-1-1) would light the lamps eight times in the opening half. Nao Katamoto would have a first half hat trick and add an assist. Marina Nawa would also hat trick of goals in the first half and assists in the match. UT Southern would lead in shots 13-6.

In the final half, the Firehawks would add three more scores in the match. Miran Sakai, Maclaini Michael and Jessica Glassman all recrded two-pointers. UT Southern would outshoot the Barons 26-6 and hold the shots on goal advantage 17-2.

Layken Stockstill (8-3-2) would share a clean sheet with Petra Brncova. The duo would record a save each.

Ravynne Wilson

  • Defender from Meridian, Mississippi

  • Prior to UT Southern: NJCAA National Finalist at Holmes CC and NAIA National Tournament Quarter Finalist
  • Major: Exercise Science and Kinesiology 
  • Post College Soccer plans: getting into OT school
  • Favorite Soccer Memory: beating William Carey last season
  • What will you miss most about college soccer: the friendships I made 

 

 

Layken Stockstill

  • Goalkeeper (captain) from Vicksburg, Mississippi
  • 21 career games in two seasons with 0.66 goal against average
  • Prior to UT Southern: NJCAA National Finalist at Holmes CC and NAIA National Tournament Quarter Finalist
  • Major: English
  • Post College Plans: continue my education in a master's program at MSU or UAH
  • Fav Soccer Memory: beating Southeastern this year
  • What will I miss the most about college soccer: the friendships and the environment during practice or on away trips

 

 

Kaitlyn Caminiti

  • 5th year senior defender (captain) from Pickerington, Ohio
  • NAIA National Champion and 3x Conference Champion
  • 75 career games in five seasons with one goal and two assists 
  • Major: double major 

-Chemistry: Biochemistry concentration

-Behavioral Sciences: Psychology concentration 

  • Post college soccer plans: get a job doing crime scene investigations or forensic analysis for a government agency
  • Fav soccer memory: winning a national championship 
  • What you will miss the most about college soccer: traveling the country and playing at a high level with some of my best friends 

 

 

Jessica Glassman

  • Senior midfielder (captain) from Huntsville, Alabama
  • NAIA National Champion and 3x Conference Champion
  • 79 career games in four seasons with three goals and 13 assists 
  • Major: Accounting with a minor in coaching 
  • Post college plans: coach and get a job as a forensic accountant or with the government 
  • Fav soccer memory: winning the national championship 
  • What I will miss most about college soccer: the competitiveness and making memories with the team 

 

PROGRAM HISTORY

 Head Coach Will Austin became the all-time women's program win leader. Austin earned his 137 career win at UT Southern after today's 11-nil victory.

 

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will travel to Montgomery, Ala. To face off with Faulkner on Thursday, October 19th. The SSAC match will begin at 5:00 p.m.
