Nawa Strikes Three Times, No. 12 Firehawks Quash Roadrunners

DALTON, Ga. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer squad scored in both halves to stall the Roadrunners to a 4–nil result on Sunday.  

UT Southern (10-3-2, 5-1-1) took the first half lead in the first five minutes of the opening stanza. Marina Nawa would complete the Nao Katamoto pass and put the Firehawks in front 1-nil. Both sides would be tied in shots at the half with four each.

In the second half, Dalton State (6-5-1, 3-4) would be dominated by the Firehawks. Nawa would score again in the 59th minute, and she would complete the hat trick in the 82nd minute. Katamoto would add another goal late in the match to secure the 4-nil win. UT Southern would lead in shots 19-4 and would lead in shots on goal 9-0.

Petra Brncova (2-1) would share the clean sheet with Hallie Cherry.
