ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The #8 University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team saw its season end in a 4-1 quarterfinal loss to #2 Marian on Thursday.
MU would net a pair of goals in the 16th and 22nd minutes in the opening half. Marian would hold the Firehawks at bay. UTS would lead in shots 12-7.
The Knights would add two more jumping to a 4-nil lead in the second half. The Firehawks add a late goal by senior Izabelle Vasquez. The Firehawks would outshoot the Eagles 23-13 and the Knights would have the advantage of shots-on-goal 6-5.
Brooke Shavers recorded two saves on six chances in the loss.
