Wilson’s Haul Fuels the No. 7 Firehawks to Enkindle Eagles 

PULASKI, Tenn. – The #7 University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team ended their regular season with a 9-nil shellacking of DIII Asbury on Saturday, October 29. 

In the opening half, Yuki Watari would get the Firehawks on the board first in the match. would net her 17th goal of the season from an assist by Gabrielle Forsythe. In the 24th minute, Watari would earn her 18th score of the year on an awarded PK. The Firehawks would hold the 2-nil lead at the break. UTS would lead in shots 15-0. 

The Firehawks would net seven in the second half to blow the game open. UTS would score five goals in a span of five minutes. Ravynne Wilson would finish a Jessica Glassman pass in the 52nd minute. Watari would conclude a hat trick just 48 seconds later from Wilson. Wilson would net three consecutive scores for her haul over the next three minutes. Later in the match, Forsythe would score off a Watari helper. Hallie Cherry also would find the net from the Anais Stephany pass. The Firehawks would outshoot the Eagles 28-0 and would lead shots-on-goal 15-0.

Layken Stockstill tended the sticks, she recorded the win without facing a shot. 

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will await the winner of the Bethel/Freed-Hardeman opening round game to be played on Nov. 1. BU and FHU played to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 25th. The Firehawks quarterfinal match will be played on Nov. 4th at 2 p.m.
