Firehawks Suffocate Eagles

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern pressed and restricted the home squad defeating Faulkner 3-nil on Tuesday, August 30.

The Firehawks would take advantage of an early foul in the box by the Eagles. Yuki Watari would bury the awarded PK in the net at the 13:19 mark in the opening half. UTS would have the shot advantage 11-1 at the break.

The second half was more of the first as the top-ranked team in the land would dominate every facet of the match. Ravynne Wilson would notch her second goal of the year from the Estelle Badoedana Ekada helper just six minutes into the half. Watari would find an open Ekada for the Firehawks' third and final goal of the match. Ekada was credited with her third goal of the season with just 14 minutes left in the match. The Firehawks would dominate 21-3 in shots, and lead 15-1 in shots-on-goal.

Keeper Brooke Shavers would record her first clean sheet with one save on chance, earning her second win of the season between the sticks.
