Bowling Green, Ky. – The #4 ranked University of Tennessee Southern women's soccer team avenge their lone loss of the season in a 1-0 shutout of #16 Cumberland.

Both squads held each other in check in the first half only allowing one shot on goal each. UTS had the shot advantage at the break 8-6.

In the 57th minute Estelle Badoedana Ekada beat the keeper on a well-placed header to get the Firehawks in front. The goal was setup by Mackenzie Stroebel and Keito Ido. UTS would have seven of 15 shots on goal in the second half, leading in shots 23-13 for the match.

"We Let ourselves down with our performance against Cumberland in the regular season," said Coach Will Austin. "It was great to make up for that today. Cumberland is a tough, quality side who never makes it easy for us. I'm very proud of our players for battling for each other and getting the job done while having to play without several key players. Credit to Estelle who always scores big goals in big games. We are excited to compete to win a double MSC championship on Friday!"
