No. 3 Firehawks Torch No. 13 Tigers

Campbellsville, Ky. – The #3 University of Tennessee Southern (14-0, 10-0 MSC) women's soccer shut down #13 Campbellsville in a 2-0 win on Saturday night. 

Estelle Badoedana Ekada got the Firehawks on the board first with a strike in the 4th minute. Ekada added her second goal in the 26th minute. UTS would out shoot the LWC 10-1 in the first half.

The second half UTS would continue their dominance. The Tigers were held to two shots in the second half. UTS would out shoot Campbellsville 20-3. Gabby Kennedy recorded two saves to secure the clean sheet.

Coach Will Austin commented on the dominate performance, "Outstanding defensive effort by our whole team to limit a quality attacking side to three shots and keep a clean sheet. Two top class goals by Estelle proving why she's one of the best strikers in the country. We love competing against the best in the toughest conference in the country with five teams ranked in the top 18. To win the regular season MSC title in back to back seasons speaks volumes about the level of football our players are playing at. I am so proud of each and everyone of them."

UTS continues to put up impressive numbers and are represented on the NAIA individual leaders. Ido ranks 2nd in goals scored with 22, and Amang ranks 4th with 21. Amang is 2nd in assists with 17. Amang also is 2nd with 59 points on the season.

As a team the Firehawks lead in goals scored with 84 and lead in Goals per game with 6.00. They rank 1st in assists with 78 and lead in points with 246.

The Firehawks will return to Grissom Pitch to face #18 Cumberland University on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 5 pm.
