No. 3 Firehawks Rout Lions

Pulaski, Tenn. - A dominating performance led the UTS women's soccer team to their seventh win of the season Wednesday afternoon.

The Firehawks (7-0, 3-0 MSC) lit up the scoreboard within the first minute and cruised to a Firehawk victory. Estelle Badoedana Ekada scored on the helper from Suzuho Yamasaki just 36 seconds into the match. Four minutes later, Keito Ido buried a rebound from a Adisa Amang shot. Seven minutes later Amang would score three consecutive goals off of helpers by Ido and Yuki Watari. Defender Lily Fisk would claim a goal from a Jessica Glassman pass. Madison Luttrell would add an unassisted goal. The Firehawks would lead 7-0 and have an advantage on shots of 18-1 at the break.

In the final half, UTS would add seven more goals. Ido rould score two back to back on assists from Amang and Ekada. Amang would scratch again with help from Ido. Ekada would find the net from Ido. Ido put her fourth in the nylon from the pass Watari. Watari would add her brace from the helper of Yamasaki. Late in the half Gabrielle Forsythe would score from Mackenzie Strobel. The Firehawks would have a 38-1 shot advantage.


Goalkeepers Gabby Kennedy played a 21 minutes, Brooke Shavers added 28 and Hallie Cherry finished the final 32 minutes for the Firehawks and held FHU to only 1 shot.

Coach Will Austin commented on the win, "It was great to give lots of minutes to all 24 rostered players. We kept our intensity and played at our pace no matter whom we subbed in. We have great depth with our squad, and it is rewarding to see everyone be a team player by sharing minutes."

The Firehawks meet arch rival Bethel University at Grissom Pitch on Saturday, October 2nd. Saturday's game is set to begin at 2 p.m
