No. 3 Firehawks Overpower No. 5 Patriots

Pulaski, Tenn. - #3 Tennessee Southern women's soccer extended their home pitch win streak to 22 on a 3-1 dominate performance over #5 University of the Cumberlands on Saturday.

UC (6-1-1, 0-1-1 MSC) got on the board first lit up the scoreboard first in the 31st minute. Jayden Boelter scored her 8th goal of the season on the assist from Selena Barnett. The Firehawks would quickly answer back off the boot of Adisa Amang assisted by Estelle Badoedana Ekada in the 34th minute. Just four minutes later, Suzuho Yamazaki would connect of a big strike form deep outside the box. UTS would take a 2-1 lead to the locker room and lead 10-4 on shots.

Amang would beat the keeper in the 85th minute off the assist from Keito Ido. Tennessee Southern (6-0, 2-0 MSC) would hold the Patriots to only five shots, only two were shots on goal, in the match. 

Coach Will Austin was pleased with the team's performance today. "Today was a outstanding team performance. We created 16 shots against the top five ranked team in the nation, and we tactfully restricted them to only two shots on goal. Our players dominated every aspect of the match and validated our #3 ranking. Shoutout to Su for her spectacular goal."

The Firehawks will travel to Henderson, Tenn. to face the Freed-Hardeman Lion on Tuesday September 28th. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
