MMC Headed to Final Site After 1-0 Win Over Grace

PULASKI, Tenn. – A late-game goal for clinched a 1-0 victory for MMC over No. 14 Grace College to advance the RedHawks to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship final site in Foley, Alabama.

The RedHawks, host of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round, fought for nearly 86 minutes before the efforts paid off. MMC outshot the Lancers 18-3, and maintained much of the possession, but could not find the net until Adisa Amang (SR/Kumba, Cameroon) dished a ball to Estelle Ekada, who put the game winner away.

"That was a top quality goal by Estelle, worthy of winning any game," said head coach Will Austin.

The RedHawks improved to 18-0 with the win, and earned their ticket to the final site, where play begins on April 27.

"I could not be prouder of this entire group," continued Austin. "We have played the past two games without our All-American captain, who is one of the best players in the country. To get the job done while missing her speaks volumes about the character of this squad. Credit to Grace who are No. 14 in the NAIA for a reason. They are a very well-coached squad and defended us fantastically. We are excited to head to the beach and most importantly, to be back in the quarterfinals of the national tournament."

MMC will await their opponent and schedule for the final site, which will be dependent on the finish of the other nine opening round sites on Saturday evening.
