MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Jack Whaley of Dalton State (Ga.) was named SSAC Men's Golfer of the Week and Candela Clemente of UT Southern was named SSAC Women's Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
 
The awards are based on performance for the week of Sept. 11-17.
 
Jack Whaley (Dalton State – FR – Doncaste, England)

• This is his first weekly honor
• Whaley won the Coastal Georgia Fall Invite to start the fall season and helped his team to the team title
• He shot eight-under 208 (68, 69, 71). Tournament field featured #6 Coastal Georgia, #14 Point, #16 Truett McConnell and RV St. Thomas

 
Candela Clemente (UT Southern – SO – Guyamallen, Argentina)

• This is her first weekly award 
• Clemente finished 4th at the Phoenix Open to lead the Firehawks
• She shot two-under 214 (71, 70, 73)
