Eubank and Goff Score 14, Firehawks Fall to Faulkner

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball led after the first quarter and outscored the home team in the final stanza but fell short on the road 70-64 to Faulkner. UT Southern (3-8, 2-4) outshot the home team 44 percent to 31 percent to lead 16-15 after one period. Faulkner (8-8, 4-3) took advantage of 11 trips to the charity stripe, making eight, to lead 35-30 at the break.

In the third quarter, both teams struggled from the field combining for nine of 29 shooting, but the difference was a lone triple by the Eagles to extend their lead to seven after three. In the final quarter, the scoring pace quickly accelerated. The Firehawks oust scored the Eagles 25-24 but couldn't close the gap. Three Firehawks reached double digit points. Faith Eubank led the Firehawks with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Takiyah Goff also pitched in 14 points. Kassidy Broussard added 11 points.

NEXT UP

UT Southern will travel to West Point, Ga., on Saturday, January 6th, to battle Point. The Firehawks and Skyhawks will clash at 12:30 p.m.
