PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball team hung tough with a talented Fisk team but couldn't overcome the Bulldogs big third quarter falling 66-60 in Pulaski on Tuesday. Kassidy Broussard led the Firehawk offensive output with 20 points, and Iya Jones added 10.
UT Southern (3-6) matched Fisk (7-7) in the first quarter, each team accumulated 15 points. The Bulldogs would get an early lead in the second, but the Firehawks would close the gap to trail 28-25 at the break.
In the second half, Fisk would have an explosive quarter outscoring UT Southern 24-17 in the period. The Firehawks would battle back from trailing by nine at the final media time out but would just fall short in the waning seconds.

UT Southern will resume play on December 30th, when the Firehawks host Bryan. The matchup will tipoff, after the men's SSAC game with Dalton State, at 4 p.m.
