Firehawks Run Up The Long Distance Bill in a Fourth Quarter Comeback Against Stillman

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball exploded in the final period in a thrilling come from behind 71-64 win over Stillman on Wednesday. UT Southern (2-4, 1-2) led after the first stanza of play 16-12. Both squads would add 17 points each as the Firehawks led 33-29 at the break. Stillman (4-3, 1-2) would heat up in quarter number three, shooting 7-18 for 39 percent to lead 47-44 with ten minutes left to play.

The final period would be action packed. Both teams would combine to shoot 7-15 from distance. With under four minutes left in regulation, UT Southern would trail Stillman 57-51 as the Tigers tried to ice the game for the win. Three back-to-back-to-back triples from Faith Eubank started a 13-0 run over the next three minutes. UT Southern would connect at the charity stripe on 11 of 14 attempts in the final period to seal the SSAC win.

UT Southern will return to the friendly confines of the Curry Athletic Complex on December 7th, hosting Life University at 5:30 p.m.
