Broussard Leads All Scorers with 15, Cold Shooting Woes Plague Firehawks

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball team struggled from the floor shooting 18 of 49, to fall to #20 Freed-Hardeman 71-45 on Saturday. Transfer Kassidy Broussard led the Firehawk offensive output with 15 points. Due to an error in the Presto system, stats and web hosting was unavailable for the third consecutive day.

UT Southern (0-2) struggled in the opening half netting only six field goals shooting 24 percent. Freed-Hardeman (5-1) held a 25-point advantage at the break.

In the second half, the Firehawks traded buckets with the Lions but couldn't close the gap. Broussard connected with 14 of her 15 tallies in the final two periods.  

 

NEXT UP

UT Southern will begin Southern States Athletic Conference play traveling to Middle Georgia on Thursday, November 16. The SSAC matchup is set to tip off at 4:30 p.m.
