Firehawks Shooting Woes Too Much to Overcome in Loss to Lions

 

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball couldn't overcome a cold shooting night in an 87-27 loss to Freed on Thursday.

Takiyah Goff led the Firehawks with seven points. 

The first half was all FHU as the Lions shot a blistering 56% from the floor. UTS handcuffed with injuries tried to hang with the Lions.  FHU would lead at the break 37-14.

The Firehawks would continue to struggle shooting 19% for the final two periods. In the last half, the Lions stayed on the outscoring offensive UTS 50-13.

UTS would shoot 11 of 52 for 21% from the field. There would be one lead change and one tie.

The Firehawks will return to the CAC for senior day as they host Bethel on Saturday, February 18th. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.
