No. 4 Tigers Exasperate Shorthanded Firehawks  

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball faced #4 Campbellsville on the road. UTS came up short 94-49 on Saturday.

Mary Mackie led the Firehawks with 13 points. Halle Jones and Destiny Newman added 10 points each. Jones was three boards shy of a double-double.

UTS gave the #4 Tigers all they wanted in the first quarter. Mackie highlighted the effort scoring 11 of her points in the opening stanza. CU would outscore the Firehawks 57-21 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to secure the victory.

UTS would shoot 19 of 64 for 30% of the field. There would be two lead changes and one tie.

The Firehawks will return to Curry Athletic Complex to take on the Bears of Shawnee State on Thursday, January 26th. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
