Tennessee Southern Has Four Players Scoring in Double Figures, Firehawks Extinguishes Flames

GALLATIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern women's basketball team notched their first win of the year in a 91-66 victory against Welch on Saturday.

Four Firehawks contributed double figures in the game. Janiyha Riley led the offensive attack with 23 points. Mary Mackie added 15 shooting 3-8 from the arc. Takiyah Goff just missed a double-double with 13 points and eight boards. Faith Eubank contributed 12 points.

The Firehawks scored 21 points in both periods of the first half to lead 42-33 at the break.

UTS would explode posting 30 points in the third quarter. The Firehawks would outshoot the Flames 54%-42%. There would be one lead change and three ties.

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will return to the "CAC" hosting NCAA DIII opponent La Verne on Friday, November 11th. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.
