Firehawks Fall in Pair with No. 14 Rams

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team came up short in a twin bill with #14 Mobile on Saturday. The Firehawks lost game one 12-1 in five innings and came up short in the seventh in a 5-2 result in game two.

GAME ONE

Mobile scored a pair in the first inning, eight in the third inning, and two more in the fourth to lead 12-0. In the bottom of the fourth, the Firehawks would plate one run. Abigail Hornbuckle grounded out to third scoring Anisten Burleson.

Kassidy Davis suffered the loss, tossing 2.2 innings. Davis allowed six earned runs on seven hits. Ella Singletary allowed one earned run. Macey Ciramella hurled the final 2.1 innings. Cirramella allowed three earned runs on six hits.

GAME TWO

Mobile scored three in the second and two in the fourth to lead 5-0.

In the seventh, UT Southern would pine for a comeback win but would come up short. Haley Barnes singled to short scoring Kaley Ezell. Hannah Lindsey singled through the right side scoring Hornbuckle.

Stella Gilbreath tossed four innings allowing four earned runs on eight hits. Bailey Abernathy worked the final three innings allowing two hits.

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will travel to Huntsville, Ala., to conclude the season series with Oakwood on Monday, April 15th. The Firehawks and Ambassadors met earlier in the season in Pulaski. UTS took both games 2-1 and 4-0. The First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
