Firehawks Drop Game Three to No. 14 Lions

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team got on the board first, but #14 Freed would rally back to end the final game early by the score of 16-4 on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Kaley Ezell would single to center in the first scoring Mckenzie Cain. UTS led 1-0 after one.

In the fifth, trailing 16-1, Cain would plate Sydney Self via a sacrifice fly. A few batters later, Stella Gilbreath would laser a double down the left field line scoring Allie Toone and Emily Gable.

Ana Aaron would take the loss. Aaron would hurl four innings allowing seven earned runs on seven hits. She would record four strikeouts. Macey Ciramella would record two outs in the fifth. She allowed eight earned runs on six hits. Jayci Boozer would record the final out. Boozer allowed one earned run on a pair of hits.

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will travel to Montgomery, Ala. taking on Faulkner on Wednesday, April 5th. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
