Firehawks Pummel Wildcats in Final Pair of Series

PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team claimed the series with Bethel by winning the final two games of the series on Saturday. In game three, UTS jumped on the Cats early and never looked back to cruise to an 8-3 win. In the final game of the series, seven innings wouldn't be enough as The Firehawks would score the winning run on a hit-by-pitch by a score of 10-9.

"This was a big series for us," said Coach Brandie Paul. "I'm really proud of how tough we played this weekend by showing some true grit. We battled back from a three-run deficit to walk off a win on Friday. We continued to play at a high-level today sweeping the day from Bethel. Our ladies never stopped fighting. This was a true team effort all the way around."
