Pulaski, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team swept both games today against Thomas More.
GAME ONE
- UTS blasted 11 hits. Sydney Self, Hayley Parrott, Hayley Barnes, and Madi White added two hits each. Shelby Clifton, Samantha King, and Bree Brady each had one hit. Parrott and Self both tripled, and Self and Brady each had a double.
- The Firehawks drew two walks.
- The Firehawks left 10 runners on base.
- Parrott plated three runs.
- Kamryn Murdock worked 3.1 innings. She allowed one earned run on three hits. Savannah Sands leveled her record at 4-4. Sands worked 3.2 innings. She allowed two runs on two hits.
GAME TWO
- The Firehawks blazed 11 hits in game two. King led the way with three doubles. Parrott, Brady, and Barnes each had a pair of hits. Shelby Clifton, Taylor Latham, Chaney Dutton, and White each had a base knock.
- Parrott led the way with three RBI from her triple.
- UTS drew three free passes and struck out once.
- The Firehawks stranded six on base.
- Sands got the start in game two. She pitched 2.2 innings allowing three runs. King improved to 2-1 on the season pitching 3.1 shutout innings allowing only three hits.
