Firehawks Split First Two With Georgetown

Pulaski, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team dropped game one to Georgetown 9-6 and run-ruled the Tigers in game two 9-1 on Monday.

GAME ONE

  • UTS combined for nine hits. Sam King led UTS coming up just a triple away from hitting for the cycle. Bree Brady added a pair, and Syndey Self, Haley Parrott, Shelby Clifton, and Kayla Lawrence each had one hit.
  • The Firehawks when down on strikes two times and drew three walks.
  • The Firehawks left 10 runners on base.
  • King led the way with four RBI.
  • Kamryn Murdock pitched 4.1 innings. She allowed 2 earned runs on four hits. Savannah Sands suffered the loss falling to 3-3.

GAME TWO

  • The UTS bats stayed hot in game two producing 10 hits. King and Kaylyn Richardson led the charge with two hits each. Self, Parrott, Clifton, Brady, Lawrence, and Allie Toone all added a hit apiece.
  • UTS went down on strikes four times receiving three free passes.
  • UTS left six Firehawks on base.
  • King blasted a three-run homer and added another RBI later.
  • Ana Aaron hurled a gem improving to 2-2 on the season. She worked five innings only allowing one run on two hits.

UTS will close out the four-game set with Georgetown tomorrow at noon.
