Pulaski, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team split the final two games of their four-game series with Grace on Sunday. Grace took game one 8-7, and UTS won game two 5-1.
GAME ONE
- UTS produced 13 hits; Allie Toone 3, Shelby Clifton 2, Samantha King 2, Carlie Pendley 2, Sydney Self 1, Hayley Barnes 1, Chaney Dutton 1, and Kaylyn Richardson 1.
- UTS drew three free passes while striking out three times.
- The Firehawks left seven on base.
- Self led the way with three RBI.
- Kamryn Murdock took the loss going 5.1 innings allowing eight earned runs.
- UTS stranded the tying run just 60 feet away.
GAME TWO
- UTS put together eight hits; Dutton 2, Self 2, King 2, Pendley 1, and Toone 1.
- The Firehawks drew three free passes, suffering six strikeouts.
- UTS left seven ducks on the pond.
- King blasted a home run.
- Savannah Sands recorded the win, with a complete-game performance, allowing one earned run.
