Pulaski, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern softball team split the first two games of their four-game series with Grace on Saturday. UTS took game one 9-6, and dropped game two 14-5.
GAME ONE
- UTS produced 10 hits; Samantha King 2, Haley Parrott 2, Chaney Dutton 1, Sydney Self 1, Shelby Clifton 1, Bree Brady 1, Hayley Barnes 1, and Allie Toone 1.
- UTS drew seven free passes while striking out one time.
- The Firehawks left eight ladies on base.
- Clifton, King, and Parrott each had a double.
- King led the way with four RBI.
- Kamryn Murdock notched the win with a strong five-inning performance. Savannah Sands closed the door on the Lancers recording her first save of the year.
GAME TWO
- UTS only produced eight hits; Brady 2, Self, Clifton, King, Parrott, Carlie Pendley had 1 each.
- The Firehawks only cashed in on one base on balls, suffering three strikeouts.
- UTS left seven ducks on the pond.
- King blasted a home run.
- Ana Aaron suffered the loss.

UTS will close out the four-game series with Grace tomorrow at Royce Hughes field. The first pitch is set for noon with game two to follow.
