MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Maria Tirado of William Carey (Miss.) was named SSAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week and Titus Korir of UT Southern was named SSAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The awards are based on performance for the week of Sept. 11-17.

Maria Tirado (William Carey – FR – Maracay, Venezuela)

·      This is her first-career honor

·      Tirado clocked in at 18:43.7 in the 5K Southern Showcase, finishing 101^st in a field of 325 runners

·      The event was comprised largely of NCAA DI runners

Titus Korir (UT Southern – JR – Eldoret, Kenya)

·      This is his first-career honor

·      Korir placed 112^th out of 303 runners at the 8K Southern Showcase with a time of 26:02

·      The mark was the second-best in program history
