Korir Sets Program Second Best Time at Southern Showcase
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's cross country squad finished 22nd in the Southern Showcase at John Hunt Park on Friday. UT Southern was one of five non-NCAA institutions in the top 25.
Ole Miss paced all teams with 39 points and finished in a time of 1:59:41, while Ryan Kinnane, from Auburn, captured the top podium spot with a 23:19 marker.
Titus Korir led the Firehawk effort earning a 112th-place finish in 26:02. UT Southern ended the race in 2:15:41 and with 679 points. Korir's 8k time today ranks second all-time in program history. He currently owns the top three times on the list.
The rest of the Tennessee Southern scorers finished taking places 176, 186, 190, and 208. JJ Lincoln landed a time of 27:08, while Matthew Andrea ran at 27:17. Raleigh Stamps crossed the line at 27:22, with Dakota Sheppard 26 seconds behind at 27:48.
