Korir Sets Program Record, Firehawks Finish Second
MIDDLETON, Ga. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's cross country squad cemented the program's best team finish with a runner-up finish in the Bobcat Invitational today hosted by Georgia College.
West Alabama paced all teams with 39 points and finished in a time of 2:13:18, while Audrick Pyronneau, from UWA, captured the top podium spot with a 25:44 marker.
Sophomore Titus Korir led the Firehawk effort earning a runner-up finish in 26:10. UTS ended the race in 2:13:50 and with 40 points. Korir set a new program record for an 8k distance. The previous record was 26:17 held by Azariah Kaplelach.
The rest of the Tennessee Southern scorers finished taking places six, nine, 10, and 13. Freshman Matthew Andrea landed a time of 26:34, while freshman JJ Lincoln ran at 26:57. Sophomore Zach Shepard crossed the line at 27:00, with sophomore Raleigh Stamps just eight seconds behind at 27:08.
