Firehawks Fare Well Against Tough NCAA Competition

FLORENCE, Ala. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's cross country squad battled and held tough with some big NCAA DI and DII teams finishing sixth in the North Alabama Invitational today held at McFarland Park.

North Alabama paced all teams with 27 points and finished in a time of 2:02:32, while Evan Allen captured the top podium spot with a 24:19 marker.

Sophomore Titus Korir led the Firehawk effort earning a 36th-place finish in 27:32. UTS ended the race in 2:21:17 and with 176 points.

The rest of the Tennessee Southern scorers finished taking places 33, 36, 39, and 40. Freshman JJ Lincoln landed a time of 27:55, while sophomore Zach Shepard ran at 28:14. Freshman Matthew Andrea crossed the line at 28:31, with junior Brandon DeVore just twenty-eight seconds behind at 28:59.
