MURRAY, Ky. - The University of Tennessee Southern track and field squads competed in Margaret Simmons Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Firehawks battled some tough NCAA and NAIA programs and had some great performances over the weekend.

Matthew Andrea finished third in the 5000 meters in a time of 15:25.96. Tyler Malone placed 9^th in the 10000-meter race in 36:40.42, and Daniel Sanchez followed in 10^th place punching in at 38:50.48. Silas Hatton finished 9^th in the Long Jump at 5.71 meters. Jacob Sanchez checked in fourth place in the Javelin 44.83 meters.
