SEWANEE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's tennis team opened the Spring 2024 schedule with a Tri-match with Sewanee and Cumberland. UTS fell in both matches 4-1 on Saturday.
MATCH ONE
Cumberland swept UT Southern 6-4, 6-0, and 6-3; in doubles earning the 1-0 lead. In singles, Felipe Diaz scored the only Firehawk win in a pair of 7-5 sets.
MATCH TWO
Tristan Kelly recorded the Firehawks only point in the match with a 6-4, 5-7, 10-3, victory in the number five singles. Sewanee swept the doubles 6-1, 6-3, and 6-3.
NEXT UP
UT Southern will return to action on Tuesday, February 20th, travelling to Chattanooga to face the Mocs.
