Marc Lux, William Carey Head Coach: "Always nice to be recognized in preseason but it doesn't really mean anything. The conference is very balanced, and teams have improved their rosters. We are looking forward to putting in the daily work. We as the University have to help our athletes to reach their maximum potential and we made lots of positive changes in our strength and conditioning program which we coaches are grateful. Sometimes it's not so much to always recruit but make existing players better. That's our goal for this season and with the adding of Islam and Antoine we feel we improved the squad and are looking forward to competing this season."

SSAC Championship

New this year, all eight teams will qualify for the conference tournament April 24-26 in Montgomery, Ala. Previously the top two seeds received byes, but this year all eight will play on day one.

·      UT Southern and Point enter their first year of competition in the SSAC, while Dillard continues as an affiliate member

·      Last year's final NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll featured No. 8 William Carey, No. 10 Middle Georgia, RV Loyola and RV Dillard

·      The Crusaders have won the last two regular season titles, with the Knights claiming the two prior to that
