MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The SSAC announced the 2023 Barnes & Noble College Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete Team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Dalton State's Guilherme Franca was named 2023 Barnes & Noble College Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior health and wellness major posted a 3.52 GPA in the classroom. On the field, he was named SSAC Defensive Player of the Year and earned First-Team NAIA All-America honors. He posted four goals and two assists as a defender, helping the Roadrunners advance to the NAIA National Championship Quarterfinals.

Additional Notes

·      To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above in both academic and athletic standing, must be starters or important reserves, have at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and have competed in 50% of competitions

·      Graduate students are not eligible, and transfers must have completed one semester at the school

·       Rokbrand and Olivotto posted 4.0 GPA's, while Dawes produced a 3.94 GPA

·      Flores, Rodrigues, Mendes, Franca and Wynne all earned First-Team All-Conference honors
