MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Manuel Flores of UT Southern was named SSAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Henrique Luro Mednes of Mobile (Ala.) was named SSAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

The awards are based on performance for the week of Oct. 9-15.

Manuel Flores (UT Southern – JR – MID – Lisbon, Portugal)

·      This is his first-career weekly honor and he is the third Firehawk to win it this season

·      Flores totaled five points as the Firehawks went 2-0 in SSAC play

·      He posted two goals against Brewton-Parker and added an assist v. Middle Georgia

Henrique Luro Mendes (Mobile – SO – DEF – Sao Paulo, Brazil)

·      This is his second weekly honor this season 

·      Mobile beat No. 2 Dalton State 1-0 and RV Life 3-1 with Luro Mendes leading the defense

·      The defense allowed only four shots on goal on the week and he chipped in an assist on the offensive end
