No. 7 Crusaders Slip Past Firehawks

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer fell behind 1-nil in the first half, but the Crusaders would double up the Firehawks in the second half to win 3-1 on Thursday.  

#7 William Carey (8-1-1, 3-0) scored in the 3rd minute against the Firehawks. The Crusaders led in shots at the half 6-3.

In the second half, UT Southern (5-2-1, 0-1-1) would allow an early WCU goal, but the Firehawks would net one in the 63rd minute. Konstantinos Theodorakis closed out the Kota Tsuchisawa pass. The Crusaders would add another late goal to take the 3-1 win. William Carey would lead in shots 15-10 and hold an 5-4 shot on goal margin.

Ajay Murray (5-2-1) recorded two saves and allowed three goals.

NEXT UP

The Firehawks will travel to Mobile, Ala., facing the University of Mobile on Saturday, September 23. The SSAC match will kickoff at 4 p.m.
