BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team scored a lone goal in the first half in a 1-1 result with Blue Mountain Christian on Saturday.
UT Southern (5-1-1, 0-0-1) scored in the third minute against the Toppers. George Grice finished Noah Stalhfest cross to lift the Firehawks to an early 1-nil lead. Blue Mountain Christian (2-3-1, 0-0-1) intercepted an errant pass and a foul in the 18-yard box produced the Toppers lone goal via a penalty. The Firehawks led in shots at the half 8-2.
In the second half, both sides would have chances, but could not take advantage leading to a 1-1 draw. UT Southern would lead in shots 17-6, and BMC hold an 6-5 shot on goal margin.
Ajay Murray (5-1-1) recorded five saves and allowed one goal on the PK.
