Firehawks Fall to Cumberland

LEBANON, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team couldn't overcome an early deficit falling 4-nil to Cumberland on Wednesday.

Cumberland (1-2-1) scored in the 11th minute, 20th minute, 34th minute, and 43rd minute to hold the lead at the half. The Phoenix led in shots 6-3 at the half.

In the second half, UT Southern (4-1) would outshoot the Phoenix, but couldn't find the net. CU held the shot advantage 13-12 and led in shots on goal 11-2.

Ajay Murray (4-1) recorded seven saves and allowed four goals.

The Firehawks will return to Grissom Pitch hosting Brescia on Wednesday, September 13th. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
