PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team fell to Lindsey Wilson in a 3-1 final on Wednesday, November 9.
In the opening half, both teams couldn't find the net LWC would lead in shots 6-4.
In the second half, the Blue Raiders would get on the board first via an own goal by a UTS defender. LWC would attempt a deep cross in front of the net. The tenacious Firehawk defense would try to clear the ball across the end line, but it would be propelled into the UTS net. The Blue Raiders would take a 2-nil lead in the 67th minute. The Firehawks would get on the board from the score by Rodrigo Costa from the Alejandro Blanco assist. LWC would add a late goal with under a minute left to advance to the finals on Friday. The Blue Raiders would outshoot the Firehawks 17-13 and would lead shots-on-goal 7-4.
Ajay Murray recorded four saves allowing two goals.
