Galan Nets a Pair, Firehawks Tie Tigers

GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team scored a pair in the first half but had to score one late to tie Georgetown 3-3 on Wednesday, October 19.

UTS would get on the board from a header by Manuel Morales on the Manuel Flores cross. Carlos Galan would net his first of two in the 28th minute to raise the Firehawks to a 2-nil lead. UTS would lead in shots 7-5.

In the second half, Georgetown would retake the lead with three goals in the opening 10 minutes. UTS would spoil the Tigers' bid for an upset with a PK goal by Galan with just seven minutes remaining. GC would have the last chance off a corner, but Ajay Murray would punch it out. The Firehawks would outshoot the Tigers 20-13, and Georgetown would lead shots-on-goal 7-5.

Murray was credited with a tie. He faced seven shots and allowed three goals.
