PULASKI, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Southern men's soccer team protected a 1-nil lead to the final whistle notching their first Mid-South Conference win of the season on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
UTS net the game-winner when Carlos Galan would punt home a Rodrigo Costa shot in the 40th minute. Lindsey Wilson would hold the shot advantage 7-6 at the break.
The Firehawks would meticulously protect their one-goal advantage amongst a barrage of shots by the visitors from Columbia, Ky. LWC would outshoot the Firehawks 17-8 and would have the shots-on-goal advantage 4-3.
Ajay Murray recorded a pair of saves. He would move to 6-1 on the season guarding the net.

The Firehawks will host Campbellsville on Saturday, Sept. 24th at 1:30 p.m. The Tigers played to a draw with Cumberland 1-1 on Tuesday.
