WALESKA, Ga. – The Martin Methodist Men's Soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to No. 23 Reinhardt (Ga.) Saturday night in its season opener.
The RedHawks (0-1) battled for the better part of an hour before the conceded the match's opening goal in the 51st minute. The Eagles (1-0) added a late insurance goal in the 78th minute to secure the victory.
Sophomore forward Jonas Arcalean and freshman forward Miguel Tizapa led the RedHawks with four shots apiece. Alex Kleczkowski finished the night with three shots – all of which were on target.
Martin Methodist returns to action on Tuesday, Aug. 28, when it hosts Brescia (Ky.).
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Grissom Pitch in Pulaski.
